Hellen Davis, the founder of EllieGlow said:

“Skincare Coaching will never return to ‘business as usual’ where you have to meet clients one-on-one. Telehealth, zoom and video conferencing changed the in-person meeting to a ‘maybe’ not a ‘have-to’. Leveraging video conferencing is so effective. Most people understand that it can be much more effective to meet virtually. If done properly, it can put the client at ease, help you build trust, faith, and confidence by getting virtually ‘in front’ of your customers during the entire Skincare Coaching Process. With Skincare Coaching, as long as we can see the client’s skin and communicate effectively, we can have tremendous market reach. We can coach anywhere, deliver products anywhere and help virtually anyone on the planet! Our Skincare Coaching world is truly the entire world!”

Satisfaction

Skincare Coaches help people. When you help people with their skincare needs, they look better. When clients look better, they feel better and have more confidence! Providing a service that helps people on so many levels is extremely rewarding!

Knowledge Acquisition

Working in the personal care and beauty field has many perks and opportunities for those who enjoy the work and want to grow and expand their skills and knowledge. As a general rule, Skincare Coaches are curious cats – they are obsessive seekers of skincare knowledge! Skincare Coaches are generally the first to know about the newest skincare ingredients, products, anti-aging treatments, equipment, therapies, remedies, tools and techniques that improve and enhance the skin and treat skin-related conditions. They like to keep themselves at the forefront of knowledge of the latest and greatest innovations like new discoveries in skincare technologies, treatments, and maintenance.

Client Goals and Coaching Suggestions

Skincare Coaching is never a boring assignment! When a Skincare Coach provides the right treatment suggestions and/or products to help the client achieve a certain anti-aging or skincare goal, whether it is to find a solution for a specific ongoing skin problem, improve overall skin tone, help them sort through ingredients and product choices, fight the signs of aging or get them into solid skincare healthy habit, it’s a very satisfying moment.

Employee, Independent, or Business Owner

Some Skincare Coaches are employees, but many work independently as contractors too. Some work strictly on a salaried basis, others strictly on commission from products sold to clients, and many have both salary and commission. A number of Skincare Coaches determine that the right path for them is to start their own businesses allowing them to work on their own time with a client book themselves. They like the fact that they own the client relationship, control their workflow and can dictate the terms of engagement and control the environment. Bottom line is that they own their own business and are in control of their destiny and earnings potential. No matter what path you choose, Skincare Coaching is a viable career option.

Fees, Commission or Blended

A Skincare Coach can choose to charge only coaching fees, preferring not to sell products. However, the vast majority of Skincare Coaches use a blended approach, preferring to charge a combined coaching fee which includes coaching fees, products, discounts, or bundles. We have found that most clients like this approach justifying that they were going to buy recommended products anyway, so if the coaching fee is reduced or discounted because of the product sale, that’s good!

Compensation

Depending on the location, expertise and type of coaching and products the Skincare Coach offers, and depending on whether they are employed, independent, or the owner of their own business, or whether they are operating in-person with clients or by tele- or video-conference, a Skincare Coach can earn a very competitive and lucrative income/compensation that may include these: coaching fees, tips, and/or markups, overrides, team bonuses, and commissions on product sales. Some extra training may be required for skills that will enhance their coaching compensation like business, sales, influencing, teambuilding, and communication training; but this training investment is often worth it in the short- and long-term.

Networking, Referrals and Building Your Skincare Coaching Business

Skincare Coaching allows you to market to just about everyone in every walk of life and profession, from various backgrounds, ages, education levels, and of all disciplines and vastly diverse backgrounds. Being a Skincare Coach will truly expand your network and your horizons in profound and interesting ways. Skincare Coaches come to play an important role in helping clients maintain the health of their skin.

Network Building

Professionals who specialize in skin care perform a number of tasks. The job allows specialists to interact with different types of people from different backgrounds and. Many specialists say that the job they do also make them feel satisfied that they are instrumental in helping their clients feel more confident about how they look.

Flexible Work Environment & Hours

When people first begin to consider becoming a Skincare Coach, they typically think about being prepared to coach in a one-on-one in-person manner. This means you could go to the client’s home, provide coaching in your own home, or set up appointments in beauty spas, health spas, and salons. Some Skincare Coaches work in vacation resorts, medical offices, and clinics. Some use their knowledge and skills to sell products and services to the beauty industry, salons, spas, and/or medical or professional offices. Becoming a Skincare Coach has a lot of different choices when it comes to flexibility.

Schedules

Some Skincare Coaches work full time, their schedule dictated by the hours kept by the establishment. Others choose part-time hours in a more flexible setting or in a heavily client-dictated less flexible location. Many work only late afternoons through the evening when clients are more able to see them. Bearing this in mind, it is also not uncommon for Skincare Coaches to work during weekends too.

Referrals

When your client’s skin shows improvement, the people around them notice. Many clients refer their Skincare Coach to their families and friends, building an ever-expanding profitable and interesting network. A bonus: As much as clients learn about skincare from a Skincare Coach, the Skincare Coach learns so much from their clients!

Go BIG, Go VIRTUAL!

The beauty and skincare industries have always had to adopt new strategies and ways of selling to reach their customers effectively. Going virtual is no different. With the world being uber-connected virtually, and the virtual beauty and fashion growing exponentially, the virtual prospects for Skincare Coaching are most certainly a highly profitable blue ocean opportunity! Just think about how you can run a Skincare Coaching from your laptop or phone! It’s not surprising that Salesforce reported that video conferencing was the No. 1 most valuable sales tool in 2020. We and many others in the Skincare Coaching industry believe virtual coaching and consulting (as well as virtual selling) is here to stay!
